Popular social media site Facebook is launching ‘Ray-Ban Smart Glasses.’ Its founder Mark Zuckerberg called the glasses the ‘key to the future’ of Facebook.

At a recent income meeting, he said, "The glasses will allow users to 'teleport' themselves between different social experiences using VR and AR." The glasses have an iconic structure and will allow them to do some clean work. So I'm really looking forward to getting them into the hands of the people and continuing to make progress on the journey of bringing fully augmented reality glasses in the future. "

Facebook's 'Ray-Ban Smart Glasses' coming to market

Zuckerberg started working on making these smart glasses in 2019. He began working with sunglasses maker Ray-Ban owner Luxotica on AI glasses called Orion.

Note that Snapchat owner Snap also has smart glasses called Spectacle. But those glasses depend on the phone. Last year, Hugo Barra, VR vice president of Facebook Reality Labs, confirmed that their smart glasses are coming in 2021. Not only sunglasses, the company is also making smart watches that can be unlocked with built-in cellular connections and displays.
